At West Calgary Periodontics, we stay at the forefront of emerging evidence-based dental technology to ensure we have the right tools to provide optimal treatment outcomes. Our office utilizes a digital workflow to plan, execute and deliver treatment, and allow for easy and accurate communication with referring offices.
Initial patient assessments typically start with 3D imaging, using our in-office computed tomography cone beam (CBCT), allowing for visualization of complex patient anatomy. 3D visualization aids in diagnosis, communication of treatment goals, and simplifies treatment planning, all with the goal of increasing predictability of treatment outcomes.
Highly accurate digital copies of the patient’s teeth and occlusion, all in true life colour, can be taken with our intra-oral scanner. These digital scans can then be merged with CBCT images, to digitally recreate patient anatomy, occlusion, and accurately plan out treatment. Since images are in a digital format, they can be easily sent to referring offices to aid in communication and treatment planning, or forwarded to preferred laboratories for dental appliance fabrication.
Simple to complex dental implant treatments can quickly and predictably be planned using our digital treatment planning software. The digital plan allows us to clearly convey treatment goals and progress to the patient, while accurately and securely communicating with referring offices, or preferred dental laboratories, to expedite patient treatment.
Our digital workflow extends to treatment delivery, where we use 3D printed surgical guides, and dynamic 3D navigation equipment to ensure highly accurate and predictable dental implant surgery. Utilizing the digital workflow ensures that patient treatment goals are confidently met, from planning to execution.
Our investment in digital technology does not mean that our treatment costs are higher! We keep treatment costs low by increasing efficiency, while optimizing treatment outcomes, and reducing treatment time!
