Dr. Tom Wierzbicki, BSC, MSc, DDS, MDent (Perio), FRCD(C) is a Registered Specialist in Periodontics and a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Calgary. Dr. Wierzbicki is actively involved in the dental community, most recently volunteering his time as an executive member of the Calgary and District Dental Society, holding the position of President from 2017-2018.
Dr. Wierzbicki earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Alberta in 2007, after graduating with a Bachelor of Biochemistry and a Master of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Calgary. He worked for several years as a General Practitioner before going on to complete the Periodontal Residency Program at the University of Manitoba in 2012.
Dr. Wierzbicki provides full scope periodontal specialty care, with a special interest in managing peri-implant disease and complications.
Dr. Wierzbicki has authored scientific articles and presents at local, national and international meetings and conferences. His past research has been recognized with awards such as Alpha Omega Foundation of Canada Postdoctoral Education Research Grants, 1st Place Standing at the Graduate Research Forum at the 55th Annual Midwest Society of Periodontology Meeting, and Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research Studentships.
